Jobless Migrants Returning Home From Oil-Rich Countries

DUBAI—Hundreds of thousands of foreign workers have lost their jobs in wealthy Middle East states amid the coronavirus pandemic and are streaming home to Asian nations that have long relied on their earnings.

The crash in oil prices and the suspension of international tourism have left a raft of low-income foreign workers—shop assistants, construction workers, cleaners and others—without jobs in Persian Gulf countries such as the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
